How to Free Download

For years I’ve been building and publishing websites, but recently I found that it was challenging to find the right tools for this task. So after some trial and error, I decided to get into downloading. In a nutshell, downloading means downloading your source code, software, video, games, etc. from the internet onto a computer hard drive. This makes sure that no files can be deleted, just overwrote on their own.

I chose the name “downloading” because there is a common misconception about what goes in and out of your PC; think of something you’re downloading (i.e Steam Game, Music, Photos, Files) but it could also include any other program.

First, we have to figure out what our goal is. While many people might want to clean their computers and/or make them work better, I’m mostly interested in making my computer easier to use, less cluttered, and more accessible, especially if we are doing research. These goals were already met by using different file-sharing tools on this blog in the past, but for now, we need to narrow these goals down to one specific area. We will not consider other areas such as creating our homepage or other features until later. I can guarantee though that once I start delving deeper into downloading and finding new software packages, I won’t stop right away.

What does downloading mean? Well, if we download our favorite songs or movies on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, or similar services, they would end up playing our music instead of us being able to change the song to play in another way. If we don’t like certain things on YouTube, Netflix, Twitch, Instagram, etc. then we’d be notified by an email or on Facebook page/website that it’s on YouTube’s block list, which in these cases is often updated within a couple of hours or so of being published.

So now, let’s take stock of where we’d like to go with this project. First, we need our software, DVD or CD-ROMs, to be available online for everyone to use. Once we have that figured out, then we can begin downloading the software from the website. But wait! What’s next? Right away we should check our local machine for errors, virus threats, malware, etc., before starting downloading. After all, we have to get rid of the programs that can harm our system, otherwise, when trying to do anything useful, we’d always end up destroying the system itself.

So I went through and downloaded the following 5 software packages from Google Play Store: Downloading (from https://play.googleapis.com/store/apps/details/downlaoding), Download Manager (from https://store.downloadmanager.com/), VLC Media Player (from https://store.vlcmediator.com/), Win32Ripper (from https://www.win32ripper.info/). The first three can be found on Apple’s App Store and the last two are available on Microsoft’s Azure Marketplace. It was important to me that none of these apps were paid for or require paywalled applications, but if they were on sale or for FREE, then let’s give these apps a try and see if we can do the same thing. After that, we only need to update Windows 10 or any updates from the latest Microsoft Windows 10 updates if a bug has occurred. With that said, we don’t have to uninstall windows, so we only need to uninstall downlaoding.exe. For that, we will need a USB stick to connect to our PC. It should be easy to download the software because the process shouldn’t be too difficult. There are lots of instructions online for getting started with downloading and downloading, so there is a good chance that we won’t experience any problems during this tutorial. Some tips before proceeding are to keep an eye on spam emails, viruses, spyware, etc., to scan the firewall regularly, and to back up our files on Amazon Drive. Finally, keep the antivirus software up to date, even if our computers aren’t running Windows.
